Deep Frequency

An alien being randomly discovers the legacy of one human, in the vastness of space. What was left behind could blow its mind.

As a contorted, circular space station floats somewhere in the universe, a blue humanoid-like alien is alerted to a proximity breach of an approaching vessel. The alien flies its space shuttle towards what looks like a floating skyscraper, with gigantic speakers on various flat surfaces.

The main entrance doors part automatically and the alien cautiously investigates the interior, with weapon in-hand. As the ghostly sounds, foreign to the alien but known to us, humans, as dub, get louder as it approaches the center of the vessel, a descending set of steps light up on the edges, beckoning the alien to continue further.

Weapon now raised, the alien enters the hall with walls of gigantic speakers and two equally large, interconnected bongs, bisected by a human with dreads at a single turntable. Before the alien has a chance to pull the trigger, the human drops the needle on the spinning gold record, blasting the alien’s head off, leaving a bent spray of a color fountain, shooting from its shoulders.

As it descends into deep psychedelic hallucinations, it finds itself floating towards the same gold record but a thousand times its original size. Once the alien touches the record, it awakens to see the man standing with a smile on his face but then instantly disappears, as if he were just a 3D hologram. What he leaves behind is the gold record. What is the alien meant to do with the record now?
